Do It Anyway 💀👍
Some time ago, I found myself reflecting on all the scary things I’d been saying yes to. That moment of reflection turned into a drawing because that’s how I process things: through art. (Which then turned into a sticker, a mug, and a hoodie✨)
But the truth is, every time I’ve chosen to step into fear instead of backing away, I’ve grown. It doesn’t mean the fear goes away it just gets smaller in the face of your bravery.
So if there’s something scary tugging at your sleeve right now, I want to encourage you: find that thing, get out of your own f**king way, and do it anyway 🖤
Love,
Shaye
I’ve always been fascinated by fear, especially the kind that shows up quietly, hiding just under the surface of discomfort. I’ve learned that the best way to deal with it, for me, is to dive in headfirst.
One of the most intense examples of this was learning how to rig while suspended anywhere from 65 to 125 feet in the air. It sounds wild because it was. Especially considering I used to get vertigo just climbing an 8-foot ladder. At one point, I wouldn’t even walk close to the edge of a building to catch a glimpse of the view.
